Spiritual Brain authors in the media: Mario Beauregard and Denyse O'Leary
Here is the interview with Mario Beauregard at New Dimensions Cafe. Search on his name.
In a much more humble venue, last Friday (March 7, 2008) I addressed a "brain and behaviour" class at Tyndale University in Toronto, on non-materialist neuroscience. I talked about some of the primary topics of The Spiritual Brain: How you can know that your mind really exists and really controls your brain.
Students were very interested in the placebo effect
- the effect by which the influence of drugs or treatments depend to some extent on what you believe will happen. Yes, it is true. And it is very important.
Especially today, because an aging population must take - perhaps - several drugs that may not agree well together. The best solution is obviously not to need so many drugs or not so high a dose. That is where the placebo effect becomes important.
